Information video for Haemoglobinopathy patients and their families about moving to adult services.
CLIENT
Wessex and Thames Valley Haemoglobinopathy Coordinating Centre (HCC), led by Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, is responsible for coordinating, supporting, and promoting a system-wide network approach to the delivery of haemoglobinopathy services to adults and children.
BRIEF
The HCC needed a video to explain to their patients aged 14-18 what happens when they move to adult services. It needed to show the process and explain key information clearly but in an entertaining and engaging way. The client had a very specific script that would require us to collaborate on to make it suitable for animation.
RESULTS
The video takes a young patient, with lots of questions, on a journey through the process of moving to the adult services. Following a traffic light system, he stops at three places along the way to learn what happens at each stage. A healthcare professional gives him 4 tips about moving to adult servies and answers his questions so he feels ready for the move! The feedback on the video has been extremely positive and it’s already benefiting patients.
