ANIMATED VIDEOS TO SUPPORT CHILDREN & TEENAGERS WITH BODY IMAGE
CLIENT
The NHS Health for Kids website offers resource areas for parents and carers and children with a wealth of information to help support children to be healthy and happy as they grow.
The NHS Health for Teens website introduces a new and different way for young people aged 11-19 to learn about their health.
BRIEF
We were commissioned by the Leicestershire NHS Partnership Trust to create two animated videos for the Health for Kids and Health for Teens websites about Body Image and Self Esteem. In addition to these, they asked for some fun informative social media edits.
For Health for Kids, we needed to tackle this sensitive subject in an entertaining yet informative way for children aged 5-10.
The Health for Teens video was required to help teens feel better about themselves, their body image, and their self-esteem. It had to follow the guidance of health professionals, be engaging for the teen audience, and be suitable to share on the NHS website.
RESULTS
As these two videos spanned two different target age ranges we created a set of characters that could age up between the films.
Our Health for Kids video featured a young girl and annoying parrot! In the film, we learn about how to recognise weaknesses and embrace your strengths!
We introduce the older versions of our characters in our Health for Teens video. The content is delivered in a compassionate and non-judgmental manner, empowering teenagers to embrace their uniqueness and develop a positive self-perception. The video highlights the importance of mental well-being and how to foster a healthier outlook on body image and self-esteem among teens.
The social edits take the important messages from the films and highlight them into short portrait videos designed for the social media platforms that teenagers are using.
